Campus Theatre to present comedy “Rumors”

The El Camino Campus Theatre will be presenting the play, “Rumors,” directed by EC theatre lecturer, Matthew Talbott on Feb. 26 and 27 at 8 p.m. and March 3 and 4 at 3 p.m.

In the 1980’s, Neil Simon created the play “Rumors” taking place in upscale New York.

The play focuses on four wealthy couples attending an anniversary celebration for their common friends, Charlie and Myra Brock. After a series of unexpected events, the group of eight are challenged to discover what exactly happened at the party.

American screenwriter Neil Simon began writing plays in the 1960s. He created this farce play, “Rumors,” in 1989. The success of many of his plays have led him to many nominations and awards such as winning the Pulitzer Prize in 1991.

Talbott took on the directing role for “Rumors,” along with “As You Like It” by William Shakespeare this past fall semester at El Camino.

Tickets can be bought at the EC Center for the Arts website for $15, and parking is $3 for students without a parking pass.
