El Camino’s board of trustees held a special meeting on Monday, Nov. 14, but the details of what was discussed during their closed session remains unknown.
The meeting was announced four days prior, with a short agenda entailing the public to address the board with any questions before adjourning for their closed session.
Due to the absence of anyone from the public, the board went into their closed session pretty quickly.
“We had it open for like 30 seconds and closed it up,” EC board of trustees John Vargas said. “Let me correct that, it was more like two or three minutes and because no one was here, we went ahead with our closed session.”
The board has recently had to deal with the threat of a lawsuit by El Camino Village suing the college over the construction of parking Lot C.
This is the fourth special board of trustees meeting of the semester.
There were no special meetings last semester and fall 2015 had two, due to the process of hiring, now president, Dena Maloney.
The board of trustees will hold their next regular meeting on Monday, Nov. 21 at 4 p.m. in the Administration Building board room.
