The EC women’s volleyball team sweeps away East Los Angeles College
The women’s volleyball team continue to dominate as it swept East L.A. College last night, 3-0.
The Warriors (10-2, 2-0) set the tone of the match and defeated the Huskies (7-6, 1-1) 25-18, 25-15 and 25-16.
“We were in control most of the match. There weren’t any point swings or anything,” coach Le Valley Pattison said. “We have really been working on unforced errors and we did a good job minimizing our errors and just taking care of the ball.”
Sophomore outside hitter Darlene Lee had an impressive .818 hitting percentage with 10 kills on 11 attempts and tied with sophomore setter Sadie Fraker getting up 13 digs.
The Warriors had three other players with double digits in kills. Sophomore outside hitter Nicole Echeverri had 12 kills, sophomore middle blocker Kimberly Haney had 11 kills and freshman outside hitter Nickeisha Williams tallied 11 kills.
“Darlene leads in digs for us and our setter Sade Fraker is doing good job getting much more competitive as the season goes along,” Pattison said.
With another win under their belt, the Warriors still have a few things they need to work on for their next home game Friday against L.A. Trade Tech at 6 p.m.
“We need to be balanced in every hitting position,” Pattison said. “We need positive stats in every hitting position, so we’ll work on that.”
