What is your position in the club?
I am the adviser of the Alpha Gamma Sigma (AGS) club.
Who are the president and vice president?
Danielle Kotowski is the president of the club and Nicholas Mitchell is the vice president.
When and where does this club meet?
AGS meets every second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m. in the Math and Sciences Building, Room 100B.
What are the requirements to join your club?
You have to be a student at El Camino, have at least a 3.0 GPA and be involved in community service.
How does the club contribute to the campus and the community?
Alpha Gamma Sigma is the Honor and Scholarship Society of El Camino College. It is a statewide institution that fosters academic achievement and community and campus service.
When was this club founded?
The club was founded sometime in the ’40s.
Are there any events coming up?
We are having a car wash on Oct. 23 on the east side of campus to raise scholarship funds.
How many members are in the club?
We are still accepting applications, but we usually reach more than 100 members each semester.
What are the clubs goals for this year?
We would like more people on campus to become aware of our organization and realize how networking in a group like this can help you to accomplish your career and transfer goals. We would also like to raise money to help make scholarships available for more
Are there any perks to being in AGS?
Once you earn “Permanent Membership” in our organization you get a seal on your diploma, an “Honor Society” notation on your transcript and you get to wear the official gold stole of the college at the graduation ceremony.
