Conan O’Brien is going to cable. Very funny? That is the slogan of TBS, O’Brien’s new home for his late night show starting in November.
This will mark the new one-two punch of “Team LoCo” as proclaimed by George Lopez, who is currently occupying the time slot for O’Brien’s new show.
The move for O’Brien not only gives him ownership of the new show, which FOX was unwilling to do, but ultimately it will make him more money on the back end, on top of the reported $44 million deal slated with TBS.
TBS is counting on “Team LoCo” to bring in the much-coveted younger audience, which Lopez has done with his show. Both are on various social networks, such as Facebook and Twitter, which help connect them with their fan bases.
The move to cable will allow O’Brien to be more creative and will give him greater leeway to express his comedic genius. TBS will now be able to live up to its slogan ‘Very funny’ so stay tuned.
