What is ICC?
Inter Club Council is a student organization similar to student government for all clubs on campus. We organize events throughout the year and we approve clubs that are formed on campus.
How does it impact EC? Why is it important?
We overlook all events that happen on campus such as club rush, the blood drive, and homecoming. Without ICC there wouldn’t be any fun events and EC would just be a place to attend classes and go home. We keep school spirit alive and there wouldn’t be any clubs on campus.
How did you get involved with ICC?
I was involved in different clubs on campus, which led me to ICC. I was first a secretary, then vice president, and this year I was appointed president.
What is expected of you? What do you do?
I chair ICC meetings and discuss any requests clubs may have and oversee the ICC cabinet. I am a representative to all the clubs on campus so clubs come to me with any issues they may have.
How often does ICC meet?
Mondays and Wednesdays 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
What are some goals this year?
We want to step it up a notch and make everything bigger and better. We want to make every event more elaborate and have more student involvement.
What are some upcoming events?
The blood drive will take place Oct. 13-15. EC is one of the top donors of community colleges in the area so we’re hoping for a good turnout.
Are there any requirements to join?
ICC members must maintain a 2.0 G.P.A., be enrolled in six or more units, and attend all meetings and events.
How do you join?
Elections for the next cabinet are held at the end of the year. Not all positions get filled so students interested contact me and are evaluated by the cabinet.
What sets ICC apart from other campus organizations?
It’s the fun aspect. We have ASO, which is one of the biggest organizations on campus that overlooks a lot of academic aspects of student life. ICC is the fun part of student government. We keep the school spirit alive through fun events all year.
