Universal health care will provide affordable, accessible health care for all Americans.

The current health care system in this country is in disarray and can be improved upon.

In our current state of economic uncertainty, some suggest that health care shouldn’t be changed at this particular time. However, the universal health care system needs to be implemented immediately.

Members of Congress are now wrestling with the idea of how to pay for health care reform, however these tough decisions will eventually be hashed out.

We must follow the model of other industrialized countries that have used universal health care successfully for years.

In the United States, 17 percent of U.S. citizens are without medical insurance and the proposed universal health care plan will suppposedly cover the 46 million people currently without health care.

Obama’s version of universal health care is not going to mimic the one that was used by our North American neighbors: Canada. The single-payer system is what they use, but is not the only form of universal health care that can be implemented.

The Obama plan builds on the existing health care system and uses existing doctors and providers establishing his version of universal health care.

The universal health care will be able to all Americans. This will ease the burden of some 45 million Americans that are in need of health coverage.

In Obama’s proposal, he has committed $634 billion to health care in his $3.6 trillion budget.

People who are sick will be treated immediately opposed to after they become sick and their sickness has spread and is beyond treatment.

Basically, the timeline in which patients are treated will be sooner rather than later.

The new universal health care system will require insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions so that Americans are not discriminated against because of their health status.

The insurance companies are not going to be able to pick and choose like before. These patients are going to be able to receive comprehensive benefits at fair and stable premiums.

Obama is going to prevent insurers from overcharging doctors for their malpractice insurance.

Obama intends to hold employers accountable for their actions by requiring large employers that previously didn’t carry health care coverage to contribute a percentage of their payroll toward the costs of employee health care.

A National Health Insurance Exchange will be established with a different range of private insurance companies.

A new public plan will allow individuals and small businesses to buy affordable health coverage.

The cost of health care is going to save the average American family an estimated $2,500.

Obama has suggested allowing the importation of safe medicine from other countries which offer medicine cheaper.

The usage of more generic medicine is also going to save money. The costs of catastrophic illnesses for employees and employers will be reduced. Hospitals will be required to report health care costs and data.

The funding of universal healthcare will come from a variety of places. Patients will be receiving regular check-ups and costly emergency room visits will decrease saving an estimated $75 billion.

With the implementation of universal healthcare, all Americans will have the medical care that they deserve and need.
