Name: Yan Popkov
Age: 18

“No, if it happens it happens. I’m not going to walk around scared everyday, thinking that it will happen. I don’t have time to prepare because I’m too busy going to school.”
Name: John Barogden
Age: 22
Major: Engineering
“Yes, I am some what prepared because my home is built to be able to withstand an earthquake. I don’t know that I am prepared to properly handle a substantial earthquake but I can always call the police. I have to be informed about the necessary precautions to take before I can prepare.”
Name: Keith Flowers
Age: 20
Major: Communications
“Yes, I have plenty of canned food in storage. I told my mother to be prepared because we have not experienced an earthquake in a while so we’re just waiting for the next big one. It’s stupid to not be prepared for what could happen. Do not mess with nature because unlike with tornados and hurricanes, we will have no warning signs. It just happens. People should take the time now, since we are not experiencing an earthquake, to prepare and gather supplies.”
Name: Jeremiah Hampton
Age: 22
Major: Business
“No, because I’ve only been in one earthquake my whole life so I don’t believe that one will happen anytime soon. If it does, I think that it will happen 20 or 30 years from now. I should probably be prepared but I don’t see one happening any time soon. I take life as it comes.”
Name: Allen Salazar
Age: 19
Major: Engineering/Business
“No, because I don’t have any supplies ready and I don’t know what to do before or after an earthquake. I don’t keep up with news as much as I should because I’m busy with school, among other things so it’s hard to keep up. It hasn’t happened in many years now so I’ve gotten too comfortable with the idea that we don’t have earthquakes in California. I will consider being prepared for the next big one in the future.”
Name: Melissa Nahablr
Age: 20
Major: Business Finance
“No, because I’ve never been in an earthquake. I should probably be prepared by obtaining water, food, and flash lights but I’m not. I will consider being prepared since we live in the earthquake state.”
Name: Jessie Ingram
Age: 20
Major: Computer Information Systems and Dance
“Yes, because I work at a hospital so we are already automatically prepared. At home, I have two kids in the house. My little brother knows what to do to get my 4 year old out. In the back yard, we have a shed with supplies away from the home, in the event our home collapses. At the hospital, I am constantly surrounded will talk of being prepared for emergencies. I live close to the hospital so in the event of an emergency, I am one of the people they are going to call so my family is going to be prepared.”
Name: Nicole Young
Age: 19
Major: Psychology
“Yes, because I was watching a special on CNN and they told you how to prepare. I did just what they said to do. With the internet, you have plenty of sources which tell you what you must do to be prepared.”
Name: Alyssa Disutor
Age: 18
Major: Advertisement
“No, but I was on the internet the other day and I read that we may have another earthquake soon with a high magnitude. The chances are at like 99.9 percent within the next 30 years. I told my mom but she says we’re fine. Still, I don’t think we’re prepared. I will gather supplies such as water, flashlights and canned good to prepare. But other than that I would just wait for my parents to tell me what to do.”
Name: Denise Gonzalez
Age: 20
Major: Political Science
“No, because I lack preparation supplies such as water and food and evacuation plans. I need to come up with a plan to be prepared.”
Name: Charlie Butler
Age: 21
Major: Theatre
“Yes, because I have stock piled bottled water, flashlights with batteries, and food. I will be ready for the next earthquake and it is very much stupidity for other people to not be prepared. It is not hard to prepare.”
