Debuting garment designs are to come pumping down the runway courtesy of the El Camino College fashion students.

This Thursday, June 4, at 7:30 p.m, the East Dining Room, above the Bookstore, will house the 27th annual fashion show. All semester long, students have designed a variety of swimwear, dresses, daywear and more which will get center stage at the show.

Full-time fashion professor and fashion department coordinator Vera Ashley said that students in the program are given advance notice to submit their work, but some designers required more time to finish.

“They knew about it the prior year, so it’s up to them…some people have had them, you know, from last semester,” Ashley said.

In addition to the show, a reception and a raffle will take place in which the winner can take home one of the design blueprints.

Tickets are on presale Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., $10 for general admission and $6 for ECC staff and children. On the day of show at the door tickets will be $12. The fashion department recommends that you arrive an hour early for the reception.
