Filming for a cancer awareness public service announcement took place in multiple locations at El Camino College on Monday, May 5.

Tool of North America, a Santa Monica-based production company, was shooting a PSA in coordination with the V Foundation for Cancer Research, a nonprofit based in Cary, North Carolina.

ECC was chosen as a film location because of the production’s location requirements.

“The specific scenes we’re shooting have scenes in a chemistry lab, a gym, and a track. So, something you guys have all three of,” Sam Rowin, assistant production coordinator for Tool, said.

One of the buildings being used was the Physics and Chemistry Building as their script includes scenes which take place in a lab.

In the morning and afternoon, at least six trucks filled ECC’s curbing and parking spaces near the Humanities Building to transport all the needed equipment for the shoot.

The track at Murdock Stadium and the Gym Complex are other locations which are being used for the production. These locations may not be available to the public when the crew is filming.
