Students caught stealing drinks
Officers observed four male students stealing cases of Gatorade and water last Wednesday from Murdock Stadium; they entered by jumping the fence into the stadium.
They were all given citations for petty theft.
Fight results in court summons
Officers responded to the P.E. Building regarding a physical altercation between a female student and an unknown male Wednesday.
The male subject was harassing the female student, who hit him with her fist; the man hit back.
They didn’t press charges on each other, but officers found that the man had two warrants totaling about $1,000; he was issued a notice to reappear in court.
Possessions taken during break-in
A student parked his car in Lot F Thursday at 9:30 a.m. and returned at 12:30 p.m. to find it burglarized.
His driver’s side car door was difficult to open; when he opened the door, his car stereo and wallet were missing.
There were no witness or suspects, but there were some conspicuous marks on the driver’s door.
Man attempts to use fake bills
A black male tried to pass a $5 counterfeit bill at The Common Grounds Thursday, but ran away before officers arrived. The man has not been found.
Man claims gun possession
A man tried to get into the weight room Thursday, saying he had a 9 mm gun in his backpack. He was detained by an off-duty officer.
No gun was located after uniformed officers came, but they found that the man was a felon, armed and dangerous, with an arrest warrant.
The man was transported to the Torrance Police Department.
Vehicle booted for unpaid tickets
A car was booted in the center of Lot L for five outstanding tickets Friday. The boot was later removed when the car’s owner paid the fine.
