Meteor like shapes fly deep into the ocean, setting fires and explosions all over the city, as big spacecrafts hover over LA shooting lasers at any pedestrian that crosses its path.

Directed by Jonathan Libesman , “Battle:LA” is an action packed movie resembling the likes of “Skyline” and “Independence Day.” “Battle: LA” is an action packed thriller that will leave you in suspense throughout its scenes.
Starring Aaron Eckhart and Michelle Rodriguez, the City of Angels, along with the rest of the world, is victim to an invasion of alien-like creatures, hoping to rob it of its resources. As civilians run for cover, a group of US Marines fight to save the earth of mass destruction.
Although the film was full of suspense, action and too many explosions to count, the first ten minutes of this film was anything but entertaining. It was extremely long and it took awhile to get to the point. Even though its purpose was for the audience to get familiar with its character’s, it was unnecessary as it was pointless.
The rest of the film however, was suspenseful and kept you eager to see if the aliens would kill off some of the main characters, but the movie plot like most, was all too predictable.
“Battle: LA” did provide its audience with a few laughs and emotional scenes enough to make you shed a tear.
Eckhart’s character, Sgt. Michael Nantz, played the lead role, who is haunted by past events of a failed tour of duty, as he leads his platoon out of danger. Quickly thinking of clever ideas to outwit the invaders, Eckhart shines as a thinking man’s action hero.
Elena Santos, played by Michelle Rodriguez, resembles her character in the film “Avatar”, as she potrays a tough woman from the Airforce.
If you are looking for explosive scenes, action packed, space creature filled movie, look no further as “Battle: LA” delivers.
