NBA lockout is over
Finally it took 149 days but the NBA is back and the lockout is over. On Saturday Nov 26, 2011 the Players association and the owners reached a decision that would in the lockout. For the millions of fans across the world Saturday’s decision was exciting news to hear. After months of waiting fans finally get to see their favorite players and teams play in their hometown arenas.
The lockout began June 1 2011 right after the NBA finals. Since the lockout is over players have been expressing their happiness about finally being able to play again in interviews, Facebook and through their Twitter pages. According to NBA.com the regular season will began on Christmas day Dec 25, 2011 and it will end April 26, 2012. The playoffs will begin shortly after April 28, 2011. Their will be 48 conference games and 18 non-conference games.
I know fans are excited but I am happier to know that the thousands of people who work at the arenas and stadiums will get their jobs back. Form the custodians to the outside vendors the lockout ending is way for them to be able to provide for themselves and their families. Some people may say that the NBA is not important and that they could care less that it’s back. Well hears something to think about.
With this economy the way it is how would you feel if you livelihood was based on whenever these players played. So when the players were being locked out that meant that the employees lost their jobs. These people couldn’t provide for their families especially in small towns were jobs are scarce. So I for one and happy to know that those people can get their jobs back. The NBA games are exciting filled with drama and emotion and passion. The sport is a fierce battle between competitors for bargaining rights for the year. It’s a game old and young can play.
Its game were friends become advisories and completion is the way of life. It’s were differences are but aside for a common goal, it’s were people can become one and in loud roar for their favorite team. “This is were Amazing Happens”. No matter what team you root for the NBA is the best basketball league in the world. I am so glad this game is back and I look forward to see who will be the NBA champion.
