What is Tailor Made?
Tailor Made is the official fashion club of EC.

What are some goals this semester for your club?
We want our club to be more involved in the fashion industry and the fashion department on campus. We are planning visits to the fashion district and some of the top fashion schools in L.A.

Are there any upcoming events?
We’re planning to promote our club on campus with vintage clothing sales and food sales. Our annual spring fashion show will take place at the end of the spring semester.

How do you join?
Anyone can attend a meeting to get a feel for the club. In order to join, students may fill out an application with information to give us an idea of their strengths and what type of person they are. The cabinet will review the application and will notify the applicant within a week.

Why should students join your club?
Students should join because we don’t just sit around a classroom discussing our interests in fashion. We go out there and experience the fashion industry firsthand by going to fashion schools and meeting with guest speakers who are professionals in the industry.

Where do you meet and what goes on during a meeting?
We meet from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays in the Technical Arts Building, Room 111. We discuss trend reports, industry reports and any internships or job opportunities. We plan events and fundraisers for our club. We may have guest speakers who work in the fashion industry come out, or we’ll watch and critique fashion films and fashion shows.

How does your club impact our campus?
We impact our campus in a subjective way. Fashion impacts all of us. Whether you’re going to an interview or going on a first date, fashion impacts everyone’s lives. You wear it and live it everyday.

What is something unique about your club?
We are the first club to get a large company, South Bay BMW, to sponsor us. We’re planning an event to promote our club and they are going to bring some cars on campus.

What are your personal thoughts on the club?
It will definitely help you in determining whether or not you want to pursue fashion as a major. Whether or not you’re a fashion major, you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation and understanding of the fashion world.
