Yes:Is tap water safe to drink?

The water that comes out of the faucet is not only safe to drink, it’s the same water that one can find in many major bottled waters.

The assumption that bottled water is better for you is false. Water is water. Tap water is no different from bottled water; sometimes it’s just not as tasty.

Tap water is harmless because if you drink it every day of your life, all that happens is you save a lot of money that you would have wasted on expensive bottled water like Evian.

One might be surprised to learn that as Southern Californians, who are prone to experience severe earthquakes, our local municipalities advise us that in case of an emergency you can use the water in the top tank of your toilet for drinking water.

Not only are they suggesting that tap water is safe to drink, but they are saying that toilet water is just as safe as tap water.

And so if tap water is just as safe as bottled water, then you could say that bottled water is no better than drinking toilet water.

The detractors argue that the government puts things in the water that are a detriment to your health.

The truth is that the government fortifies water to your health benefit with things like fluoride, which is a mineral that is good for your teeth.

If tap water was toxic or not good for you, then people would not use it to wash their dishes, and they would use Dasani for their daily showers, and that is ridiculous.

The perpetuation of the lie that tap water is bad for you is the product of clever marketing campaigns set forth by the bottled water companies, because if you think that tap water is bad then they’ve got you buying their product every day.
