Two cars were involved in a head-on collision at the intersection of Manhattan Beach Boulevard and Crenshaw Boulevard on Wednesday, May 27.
Retiree Jorge Garcia, 64, was on his way to pick up his younger children from school when a white van coming up from the southbound lane of Crenshaw careened into his black Nissan Rogue at around 2:26 p.m.

“We’re all still in a little shock, a little adrenaline going. It’s going to feel different tomorrow,” Garcia said.
There were two other passengers in the car, including a 17-year-old Leuzinger High School senior.
Matt H., the driver of the white car, acknowledged that he was at fault for the accident.
“I saw the ‘left turn yield on green’ sign and didn’t see the other guy coming,” he said, adding that he was on his way to the Los Angeles International Airport to catch a flight.
California Highway Patrol officer B. Thomas responded to the scene.
There were no reported injuries.
