Warriors softball sophomore catcher Anahi Pintado has committed to Hope International University.
HIU is a private Christian university and a division three school in Fullerton, California.
Pintado’s batting average of .316 in the 2024-2025 season helped the Warriors achieve a 35-7 record and advance to the second round of the 3C2A SoCal Regional Playoffs.
Her stats have skyrocketed from the previous season with more hits, runs, batting average, walks and stolen bases.
Pintado plans to continue playing softball at HIU and said she has several goals for what she wants to achieve at the next level.
“After graduating I aim to coach softball at the high school level or the college level, emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and character development,” Pintado said.
She also said she is excited to study at HIU because of its strong reputation for academic excellence and its commitment to integrating faith and learning.
Pintado won the NFCA JC Rawlings Gold Glove playing left field.
She was one of nine players in the state to win the award.
While playing left field she had a fielding percentage of .988 out of 83 total defensive chances during the 2023-2024 season.
Pintado and the Warriors face the Long Beach City College Vikings at 2 p.m. Friday, May 9, at Long Beach City College.
