Stress Reduction Workshop offers helpful tools

For those of who were looking forward to the managing anxiety workshop today, a substitute on stress reduction will take its place Friday, December 3 from 1 to 4:30p.m. in Distance Education, Room 166.
“The previous workshop has been canceled due to the fact that the therapist that leads the workshop had an emergency leave,” Debbie Conover, Health Services Coordinator, said.
The stress reduction workshop and stress and anxiety both go hand-in-hand, Conover said.
“It’s being sponsored by a former pro bowl defensive tackle (Jerry Sherk) that played for the Cleveland Browns and he is from Ohio and that’s where I am from so that really caught my eye,” Conover said.
He is recognized as one of the best defensive players in Cleveland Browns history, Conover said.
For someone to come to school and deliver a speech on stress is good, Jonathon Zisun, 19, undeclared major, said.
“Students have to call in ahead of time to register at (310) 660-3593 extension 3573. The contact person is Caryn Yokotabut and the workshop is being given be Seeds Head Start Program and the CDC-WORKS! Program,” Conover said.
It will be open to students as well as faculty, so all are welcome although do make note that you have to register first, Conover said.
