Searching for the next comedian

For those who have always wanted a moment in the spotlight, there’s good news.

The Contemporary Theater Club is conducting auditions for their upcoming talent show, “The Fall Funnies.”

Actors, singers, comedians and those fond of lip syncing are all welcome to audition.

Auditions take place next Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Music 6 and Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Music 125.

Tribute paid to symphony affiliate

The Torrance Symphony presents a tribute performance in memory of Dr. Arnold Plank, symphony board member and president. The performance will include works by Beethoven, Bach and Davies.

The tribute will take place Saturday at 8 p.m. at the James Armstrong Theater located at 3330 Civic Center Drive. Admission is free.

Cinema Arts Club looks for talent

Calling all actors: the Cinema Arts Club is conducting an audition for its short film, “Smoke and Mirrors.”

The audition takes place next Friday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, log on to www.v2r.prod.net.

Drama retrospects music of the ’20s

Los Cancioneros presents “The Roaring ’20s” as they remember that American era with the tunes by Cole Porter and Gershwin.

They will be performing Sunday at 7 p.m. in the James Armstrong Theater. Admission is $15.
