Creativity at El Camino College continues this fall with exhibitions, performances and workshops.
From Día de los Muertos celebrations to sculpture doll-making and folklórico dancing, each event is open to the public.
- Stamp Project: Founded by Margaret Garcia and Frank Romero, Curated by Dulce Stein
An exhibition featuring the Stamp Project, founded by artists Margaret Garcia and Frank Romero, will be on view at MICASA and the Social Justice Center from Wednesday, Sept. 17 through Friday, Dec. 12.
The Stamp Project: Creating Cultural Currency started in 2010 and is dedicated to empowering women and Chicana artists, according to Los Angeles Downtown News.
- “Mi Casa es su Casa”
An all-clay artwork exhibition expressing the phrase “Mi casa es su casa” through the perspective of immigration, labor and daily life in the U.S. will take place in the Art Gallery from Monday, Oct. 13 to Saturday, Dec. 13.
- “Horrorween” soft sculpture workshop
A two-day hands-on workshop on making soft sculpture Halloween dolls will take place at the Art Gallery over two days from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, to Thursday, Oct. 16.
The workshop is taught by Dulce Stein, an art curator and poet, on Wednesday and led by Carrie Lockwood, art curator and Art Gallery associate.
- Third annual World of Music performance: Flower song music Xochi Cuicatl
A live performance of Mesoamerican Indigenous music performed by Chris Garcia, Yolanda Garcia and Alegria Garcia will fill the Anthropology Museum courtyard with sound Thursday, Oct. 23, from 1-2 p.m.
- Kieva Campbell: “A tribute to April Savino, the sister I never met”
An exhibition addressing depression and mental health will feature artists, speakers, performers and workshops focused on raising awareness and building healing habits. The exhibit opens Monday, Oct. 27, and runs through Thursday, April 23, 2026, in the Art Gallery.
- Coming Home: Ancestral Celebration
A Día de los Muertos celebration and exhibition featuring work from 23 Hispanic and Latin artists presented by the Schauerman Library and the Anthropology Museum will occur Thursday, Oct. 30, from 1-3 p.m. The event will take place in the Anthropology Museum and throughout exhibits in the Schauerman Library.
- Nuestras Raises Folkorico
A dance performance from Nuestras Raises Folklórico, brought to ECC by world languages professor Argelia Andrade, will celebrate cultural traditions through movement and music. The event will take place at the Art Complex courtyard Thursday, Oct. 30, from 1-3 p.m.
