The south side of El Camino’s parking Lot F has been officially closed off to through traffic due to construction activity, according to an email from EC’s Facilities Department.
The lower level of Lot F was closed for earthquake retrofitting in May to be finished over the summer, but was reopened at the beginning of the semester due to the prolonged construction schedule of Lot C.
However, with students dropping or not attending classes, a decision was made to resume construction on Lot F in October and now that construction has extended to both the upper and lower levels of the south side of the parking lot, closing the lower level off to any through traffic, according to an email from Teresa Coulter, administrative assistant of the facilities department.
The closure comes as part of Lot F’s “Phase 2 Closer” in finishing the construction for the parking lot, closing off over 500 parking spaces from students and staff members, according to the email.
The upper level of Lot F will still have access to drive from the north end to the south end during this construction, according to the email.
