The Associated Student Organization (ASO) approved over $1700 and discussed campus Halloween plans at the Oct. 15 ASO meeting.
The ASO approved $1500 for two members of the organization to attend the Fall General Assembly in Sacramento.
In addition, ASO approved to send six members of the organization to Washington D.C. next year during spring break.
ASO also approved $250 for Halloween decorations, donuts and candies.
The ASO executive and senate offices will be decorating and allowing to students to trick or treat, Anjeannette Aguilar, director of human resources said.
Futhermore, the role of the Assessment, Intervention and Management of Safety team (AIMS) was discussed at the meeting.
According to the filer, “AIMS is a multidisciplinary campus, threat assessment, and behavioral intervention team that collects, assesses, addresses and monitors information about disturbing or threatening behaviors at EC.”
Clinical Psychologist for El Camino and co-chair of AIMS, Jan Scheaffer said the team meets every second and fourth Wednesday of each month to discuss how to keep the campus safe.
The next ASO meeting will be Oct. 29 in the Administration Building, Room 131 at 1 p.m. and the meeting is open to the public.
