April 2, 11 a.m. Cadet was doing a patrol in Lot H and saw a vehicle parked with expired registration. The registration was checked through dispatch and it was discovered that the registration was expired as of April 2012. The vehicle was impounded for expired registration in an excess of six months.

April 1, 9 a.m. A cadet patrolling in lot F was giving a parking citation to a car when the citation machine notified the cadet that the vehicle had 5 or more unpaid parking violations on file. The vehicle was booted and will be released once the outstanding parking violations are paid.

April 1, 9 a.m. A cadet was performing a placard check in parking Lot H. The officer received DMV information via dispatch stating that the placard holder was deceased. The driver stated that her grandfather, the placard holder, was not deceased as he is currently living in Mexico and had given her permission to use the placard. It is not legal for the placard holder to give permission to another driver to use their placard. The placard was seized.

April 1, 7 a.m. Cadet was performing a handicap placard check on a honda parked in Lot H. The driver stated that the registered handicap holder was currently at home and was aware that the driver was using her placard as she had given her permission to do so. The registered placard holder cannot legally give permission to let anyone else use the placard besides herself. The placard was confiscated.

March 28, 2 p.m. Officers responded to the Natural Science Building regarding a medical aid call. A female student had injured her back and was unable to move. The student saw a pen on the ground and when she bent over to pick it up she experienced a pain in her back, lost muscle control and fell to the floor. LA County paramedics were summoned to assist. When officers arrived on scene they found the female laying on the ground, on her left side in the fetal position. The female was unable to stand up and she was transferred to a local hospital for further treatment.

March 27, 6 p.m. Officers spoke with a student who stated that at 4 p.m. she had placed her fanny pack on her desk in her classroom located in the Art and Behavioral Science Building. She went off to do classwork and when she returned to her desk at approximately 4:20 p.m. she noticed the fanny pack was gone. At about 4:30 p.m. the student’s husband received a phone call from an unknown female who had found the fanny pack in a local restroom. Everything was still in the fanny pack except an ATM card and $30.

March 27, 5 p.m. An officer spoke with an instructor in the Art and Behavioral Science building regarding an attempted burglary. The instructor stated that whomever tried to get into her office did not actually enter. Due to the similarity of this report and the report made March 26, officers and cadets were alerted to perform extra patrols in and about the Art and Behavioral Science Building.

March 27, 3:30 p.m. Officers spoke with a college employee who stated that at 7:30 a.m., they had parked in Lot C March 26. Before she had a chance to turn off the engine of her car she heard a bump sound. She got out of her car to investigate and did not initially see any damages. When the employee returned to her car at 4 p.m. after work, she noticed there were scratches on the driver side and rear bumper of the vehicle.

March 26, 9 a.m. An EC instructor spoke with an officer and stated that when she came to her office, located in the Art and Behavioral Science Building, at 8:30 p.m. she noticed that there were prime marks on the office door. The marks were on the office door adjacent to the door lock and there were paint chips on the floor. The instructor doesn’t believe anyone got into her office and said that nothing was missing.
