Men’s tennis loses final season game

The season for the men’s tennis team has been a rocky one to say the least.

After losing the first game of the season on Jan. 27 against Irvine Valley and then winning on Jan. 29th for the first away game against Cypress, one would have believed that El Camino was in store for an average season.

However, from Feb. 3 onward the Warriors have fought to get that desperate second win of the season. It all came down to the final away game of the season for EC when they played Mount San Antonio.

The men’s tennis team lost this match 2-7 and add another game to their losing streak. This puts the overall record for the Warriors at 1-13 with a 0-6 record in conference play.

EC’s only two wins came in the first matches of both the singles and doubles competition.

Sophomore Whitney Reed was the singles winner who beat his opponent 6-0, 6-1.

Sophomore Josh Legardy and freshman Mark Dalton almost lost their doubles match but scraped by with a close 9-8 win.

Next up for the men’s tennis team is the South Coast Conference Tournament which is held in Cerritos from April 9-11.
