Men’s soccer winless in conference

The Warriors’ men’s soccer team (0-1-4) finished game five of its conference with a 1-1 draw at L.A. Harbor (0-4-1) on Tuesday.

Before playing EC, Harbor College was on a five-game losing streak.

In the 28th minute, freshman defender Carlos Torres gave the Warriors a 1-0 lead over the Seahawks.

“For the most part, Harbor controlled the game,” Coach John Britton said. “They created several opportunities. Luckily they weren’t able to execute all of their chances.”

Twelve minutes later, Jose Dominguez tied the game for the Seahawks with a pass from Abanda Ajeakwa.

“We gave up simple mistakes in the back and it cost us a tie,” freshman midfielder Alejandro Lopez said. “I hope I get to play against Cerritos. They are the team to beat. If we win on Friday, it will definitely boost our confidence and that’s what we need.”

“Everyone needs to step up and play as a team. We need to play more physical,” Lopez said.

The next game for the Warriors is home on Friday against Cerritos College. Kick off is at 2 p.m.
