The EC men’s soccer team (9-18, 7-1-4) beat Los Angeles Harbor College (5-4-10, 3-6-3) 3-0 on Friday. The win keeps them first in the South Coast conference and extends their unbeaten streak to 11 games.

Sophomore defender Garett Bucheli opened the scoring in the first half with an unstoppable long range shot. The power and accuracy of the shot gave the goalkeeper no chance and the Warriors led 1-0 four minutes into the game.

The second goal came from a LAHC error in the 50th minute. Freshman forward Daniel Teodoro stole the ball from a defender near the corner flag and gave sophomore forward Daniel Muro a low pass. Muro then shot it straight into the goal to make it 2-0.

EC’s final goal came off a sophomore midfielder Charlie Gonzalez assist in the 69th minute. He fought off a strong challenge from the LAHC defense and passed it to an oncoming Andy Nunez who slotted it into the net for the 3-0. The forward capped off the goal with a dance that sent the home crowd into pandemonium.

EC men’s soccer went into the game ranked fifth, up from tenth last week in the latest California Community College Athletic Association State and Regional Poll. The Warriors play at Compton College on Nov. 11 for their penultimate game of the regular season.
