Police Beat Feb. 13-19

Feb. 15, 9:45 a.m. An Officer observed a male subject walking Northbound through the inner campus, recognizing the subject from previous stops and arrests. The officer contacted the subject on the southwest side of the ITEC building. The subject had a $26,000 warrant issued out of Torrance PD for resisting arrest.

Feb. 16, 5:47 p.m. A male student said that he parked his vehicle in parking lot L. When he returned to the lot after class, he discovered his vehicle was missing. Officers checked the nearby parking lots but were not able to locate it.

Feb. 16, 6:07 p.m. An officer responded to a medical call, the female student said that she was rushing to class when she slipped on the sidewalk and scratched her left knee. She declined to have paramedics respond and examine her injured knee.

Feb. 17, 8:38 p.m. A female instructor said that a male student who was being disruptive, refused to leave her class. Officers escorted the student out of the class and informed him that he will be referred to the Director of Student Development.

Feb. 18, 4:51 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop on Redondo Beach Boulevard and Stadium Way for a stop sign violation. The driver, a male student, did not have a have a driver’s license so the officer issued him a citation for the violation.

Feb. 18, 8:27 p.m. Officers responded to the Social Sciences Building regarding a physical altercation between two male students. One of the students said that he saw the other student walking with his ex-girlfriend, a student, so he ran up to him and punched him in the nose. The victim sustained a bloody nose but declined medical attention and was not desirous of prosecution for the battery. The other student will be referred to the Director of Student Development.

Feb. 19, 8:17 p.m. A male instructor was feeling faint so paramedics were immediately notified and arrived on scene. He was transported by ambulance to Gardena Memorial Hospital.
