Urban landscape inspires EC professor’s LAX work

Art work from El Camino students and staff has been showcased in galleries outside of the campus.

But there’s one location where a couple of professors have been lucky enough to show their artwork: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

In the fall of 2013, Professor Joyce Dallal’s work, “Elevate” was presented in LAX’s first public art festival, and her work shall now be succeeded by EC art professor Randall Von Bloomberg, according to a press release.

Bloomberg’s work, “Tathata,” will be on display in Terminal 7 and 8, the United Airlines terminals, and is inspired by the bustling metropolis he lives in.

“A Los Angeles-based artist, Von Bloomberg is inspired by the urban landscape all around, in particular, the trees and plant forms that thrive around freeways and other human-made structures,” according to a press release.

“Tathata” will be on display at the United Airlines terminals through March 31 for passengers with tickets, according to lawa.org.
