In their second conference match up of the season, EC’s softball team defeated the Compton Center Tartars 4-1 on Thursday.
The game started off slow for EC with the first two innings being scoreless. In the bottom of the third, the Tartars scored their first run.
The Warriors came back at the top of the fifth inning scoring one run when sophomore outfielder Kristen Romero doubled, letting sophomore outfielder Kathy Orozco score. Sophomore second baseman Marissa Padilla, Romero and Orozco had one RBI each.
At the end of the fifth inning the Warriors and the Tartars were tied 1-1.
In the sixth inning EC took the lead with two runs scored by sophomore catcher Gabby Fordiani and sophomore third baseman Danielle Bonsky.
The Warriors are now 8-1 in their conference. Their next game is at East L.A. College at 3 p.m.
