Police Beat Nov. 8 – Nov. 16

El Camino College

Nov. 8, 11:54 a.m. An officer responded to the south side of the Bookstore for a vandalism report. According to the report, a staff member told the officer that he saw a maintenance cart left in the middle of the road. The staff member also saw four metal railings on the loading dock that were knocked over. The police department checked security cameras in the area and saw six males pushing the cart away and knocking over the railings. It is unknown if the males are students.

Nov. 9, 1:10 p.m. An officer responded to the Facilities department for a theft report. According to the report, a staff member noticed that the industrial batteries from the police department message board trailer on Manhattan Beach Boulevard were gone. An unknown person cut the lock off of the trailer and stole the batteries.

Nov. 10, 11:27 a.m. Officers responded to a traffic collisions with injuries in the 17100 block of Crenshaw Boulevard.

Nov. 10, 1:37 p.m. An officer responded to Lot F for a hit-and-run report.

Nov. 12, 6:22 p.m. An officer responded to the police lobby for a theft report. According to the report, a student told the officer that he put his property underneath a table in the South PE Building. When the student returned he discovered that his property was gone.

Nov. 12, 6:32 p.m. An officer took a theft report for a theft that occurred in the library.

Nov. 12, 6:40 p.m. A theft report was taken at the police lobby. According to the report, a student told the officer that her purse was stolen from the Learning Resources Center. The student said that she left her purse on a countertop and it was gone when she returned.

Nov. 12, 8:50 p.m. An officer responded to the police lobby for a theft report. According to the report, a student told the officer that his computer was stolen from his desk in the MBA Building. The student told the officer that he left his computer for three minutes and when he came back it was gone.

Nov. 13, 10:04 p.m. An officer responded to Lot F for a suspicious vehicle.

Nov. 14, 1:55 p.m. An officer responded to Lot D for a vandalism report.

Nov. 16, 3:35 p.m. An officer responded to an unknown trouble call in the Administration Building.

Gardena

Nov. 12, 2:50 p.m. A white 2000 Honda Civic was stolen from the 2600 block of 154th Street.

Nov. 13, 7:18 a.m. A business in the 16300 block of Western Avenue was burglarized. According to the report, unknown persons pried open a sliding window and took money.

Nov. 13, 5:06 p.m. A home in the 16100 block of St. Andrews Place was burglarized. According to the report, unknown persons kicked in a door to gain entry.
