Police Beat Sept. 28 – Oct. 2

El Camino College

Sept. 26, 11:29 a.m. An officer stopped a man who was riding his bike on the sidewalk in Lot A. According to the report, the man who is not a student was not cooperative with the officer when stopped and refused to identify himself to the officer. The man was arrested for obstructing a police officer and was transported to Torrance Police for booking. A report was taken.

Sept. 26, 3:24 p.m. An officer responded to Lot H for a medical aid call. According to the report, a female student was running up and down the stairs with her police explorer academy classmates, when she began to have a difficult time breathing. Paramedics were called and transported the student to an area hospital. A report was taken.

Sept. 28, 9:39 a.m. An officer responded to the Physical Education Building for a medical aid call. According to the report, a staff member was feeling lightheaded and was shaking uncontrollably. Paramedics were called and transported the staff member to an area hospital. A report was taken.

Sept. 28, 1:27 p.m. An officer responded to the Health Center for a medical aid call. According to the report, a female student was complaining about a sharp pain in the bottom of her foot to her neck. Paramedics were called and transported the student to an area hospital. A report was taken.

Sept. 28, 4:27 p.m. An officer responded to the Humanities Building for a petty theft report. A report was taken.

Sept. 29, 9:10 p.m. Officers observed a woman lying down on the stairway near the Maintenance Yard. According to the report, the woman was sleeping and it was discovered that the woman had a traffic warrant from Culver City Police. The officer issued the woman a citation for her warrant. A report was taken.

Sept. 30, 2:32 p.m. An officer responded the police lobby for a petty theft report. A report was taken.

Sept. 30, 9:34 p.m. An officer responded to Lot L for a hit-and-run report.

Sept. 30. 2:45 p.m. An officer responded to the sand volleyball courts for a medical aid call. According to the report, a male student was participating in his volleyball class when he fell. The student was complaining of pain to his forearm and knee. Paramedics were called and transported the student to an area hospital. A report was taken.

Oct. 1, 8:08 a.m. An officer responded to the Social Science Building for a medical call. According to the report, a female student was vomiting in the restroom after taking her insulin medication. The student was feeling dizzy and having a hard time breathing. Paramedics were called and the student refused to be transported. The student’s father picked the student up and took her. A report was taken.

Oct. 1, 10:14 a.m. An officer responded to the Library for a man that was causing a disturbance. According to the report, the man has been causing disturbances frequently since the beginning of the semester. The man who is not a student was issued a trespass warning. A report was taken.

Gardena

Sept. 28, 2 p.m. Two men were arrested for burglarizing a home in the 15700 block of Atkinson Avenue. According to the report, the men broke a window and stole clothing.

Oct. 2, 1:37 p.m. A cell phone, video equipment, computers and games were stolen from a warehouse in the 17100 block of Western Avenue.

Torrance

Sept. 26, 6:14 a.m. A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle in the 17200 block of Atkinson Avenue.

Sept. 28, 4:43 p.m. An unknown suspect stole a side mirror from a vehicle in the 16900 block of Haas Avenue.
