Police Beat June 20 – 23

June 20, 2:49 a.m. An officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle without headlights on in the 17000 block of Crenshaw Boulevard. According to the report, the driver, a male non-student did not have a driver’s license. The officer issued the driver a citation and had the female passenger take control of the vehicle. A report was taken.

June 20, 9:54 p.m. An officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle making a illegal lane change in the 16600 block of Hawthorne Boulevard. According to the report, the male non-student had a suspended driver’s license. The man also had a $10,000 traffic warrant from the Los Angeles Police Department. The officer issued the man a citation and had him park the vehicle at the scene. A report was taken.

June 21, 6:27 a.m. According to the report, officers observed a man riding his bicycle in the 3400 block of Manhattan Beach Boulevard. Officers recognized the man from previous drug arrests. Officers also believed that the man was on probation at the time. The officers contacted the man and found that he was in possession of methamphetamine. Officer arrest the man and booked him at the El Camino police station. The man who is not a student was later released after signing a notice to appear in court. A report was taken.

June 22, 2:23 p.m. An officer responded to the Marsee Auditorium loading dock for a non-injury traffic collision. According to the report, a male staff member was driving an electric cart and collided into a parked vehicle. The parked vehicle had minor damage. A report was taken.

June 23, 3:36 p.m. According to the report, an officer responded to the police lobby for a theft report. A male staff member said that he left his bag inside an office in the Campus Theatre. He returned and later found that someone had taken his bag which contained an iPad. The staff member didn’t know if he locked the office or not. A report was taken.
