Police Beat June 17 – June 19

June 17, 11:45 a.m. An officer responded to the police lobby for an information report. According to the report, a female student told the officer that she recently broke up with her boyfriend who is a non-student, and he was using social media to say negative things about her. The student was advised to report the information to the Hermosa Beach Police Department, since that’s the city she lives in. The officer informed the female student about the blue poles and campus shuttle services. A report was taken.

June 18, An officer responded to the area of the Life Sciences building for a medical aid. According to the report, a female student who is two months pregnant was experiencing cramping and bleeding. Paramedics were on-scene and transported the student to an area hospital. A report was taken.

June 18, 10:13 p.m. An officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle making an unsafe lane change in the 3600 block or Redondo Beach Blvd. According to the report, the male non-student was driving with a suspended license. The officer issued the man a citation for driving on a suspended license. A passenger in the vehicle with a valid license took control. A report was taken.

June 19, 2:17 p.m. An officer observed a man on the ground next to a bicycle in lot L. According to the report, the man who was not a student told the officer that he had just fallen off of his bicycle. The man had a small cut on his knee, and the officer rendered aid to the man. A report was taken.

June 19, 7:18 p.m. An officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle with no license plates in the 16100 block of Crenshaw Blvd. According to the report, the male non-student did not have a valid drivers license. The officer issued the man a citation for driving without a license and told him to park the vehicle at the location. A report was taken.
