Police Beat March 21 – March 26

March 22, 2:23 p.m. Officers responded to the police lobby regarding a sexual harassment report. According to the report, a female student said that a male classmate texted her nude photos of himself. The two students are in the same class and exchanged numbers for a class project. She added that she doesn’t even know his last name. The female student was told about the Campus Police’s escort service and was advised to use emergency phones on campus.

March 23, 9:21 a.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that made an illegal turn in Lot L. The driver, was a male student, who was driving on a suspended license. He was issued a citation and then released. There was a female student in the car with him had a valid license and she had to take over and drive.

March 23, 3:26 p.m. An officer responded to a medical aid call in the Humanities Building. According to the report, a male student said he needed medical assistance for his schizophrenia condition. Paramedics were called and transported the student to a local hospital.

March 23, 5:37 p.m. An officer responded to a medical aid call on the athletics field. A male student injured his left knee during football practice. He refused medical help but said he would seek care with his own doctor.

March 24, 11:18 a.m. Officers responded to the bike racks in Lot J regarding a suspicious person call. A cadet observed a man tampering with a bike. Officers located the man riding a bicycle between the Social Science Building and Marsee Auditorium. When officers detained the man, who was not a student, they found a bolt cutter tool in a trailer he had attached to his bike. The man was arrested for possession of a burglary tool. He was transported to ECCPD jail where he was booked and later released.

March 24, 1:08 p.m. An officer was flagged down by a male student on the Library Lawn. The student reported that his wallet was missing from his backpack. According to the report, the student said he noticed it missing after he walked out of the Music building. He added that the wallet had credit cards and $40 cash. A report was taken.

March 24, 5:54 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop in Lot K on a vehicle where the driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. The male driver, who was not a student, was driving on a suspended license. He was issued a citation and then released on scene.

March 26, 10:17 a.m. An officer responded to the Center for Applied Technology Building regarding a vandalism report. A male staff member noticed a key pad on the building was broken and that electrical wires were hanging from the pad. A report was taken.
