Marsee Auditorium to host screening of ‘Pearls of the Caribbean’

El Camino’s Center of the Arts is scheduled to show a screening of “Pearls of the Caribbean,” a documentary exploring some of the worlds most beautiful landscapes and islands Oct. 26.

Marlin Darrah takes his audience on a journey to several of the Caribbean’s gem countries and cities, according to the official website of the Center for the Arts.

“Pearls of the Caribbean” includes destinations, such as, San Juan, Puerto Rico; Havana, Cuba; and Barbados.

“From beaches to forests to mountains, here you can see every conceivable shade of blue in the water, every variation of flower, every brightly colored bird,” according to the website.

The film does not limit itself to just the visual aspects of the Caribbean, but also gives viewers insight into the lives of the people.

“This program captures the spirit of the Caribbean, and the people are, in general, so open, that you can easily explore all its realms: political, religious and cultural,” says the website.

The documentary will be shown at the Marsee Auditorium. Admission is $11 and on-campus parking is $3.

Inquiries about ticket purchases and event information can be found at the Center for the Arts’ official website.
