El Camino’s Center for the Arts will be screening “Natural Wonders of the Northeast Coast: Virginia Beach to Maine,” a documentary film by award-winning filmmaker John Holod, on Oct. 12.

Holod’s documentary is a 1500-mile adventure beginning in Virginia Beach and ending at the Maine/Canada border. Audience members are able to observe a variety of birds, mammals, whales, insects, amphibians, flora, and endangered species, according to the official website of the Center for the Arts.

The experience also includes documented kayaking, sailing, aerial tours, lobstering, crabbing, and over thirty lighthouses.

Locations featured in the documentary film include Virginia Beach, Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Chesapeake Bay, Maritime Museum, Tangier Island watermen, blue crab harvest, Tilghman Island skip-jack sail , Chincoteague ponies and more, according to the website.

Holod has been recognized internationally for his cinematography and stands out in the travel-film industry, because he travels in a state-of-the-art Roadtrek or Winnebago RV, engaging in the culture and surroundings he films, according to the website.

The documentary will be shown at the Marsee Auditorium. Admission is $8 with an additional $3 service charge per ticket if purchased online, and on-campus parking is $3.
